Benefit Concert at the Teatro del Giglio in Lucca

On May 12, 2018 Massimo Cavalletti will sing at the Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, his hometown, in a gala benefit concert sponsored by the Lyons Club Lucca Host and Rotary Club Lucca, its proceeds being donated to the “Villaggio del Fanciullo” and The Italian Parkinson Association Lucca.

He will share the stage with other Lucca born or based artists: soprano Silvana Froli, flautist Sara Tomei, pianist Massimo Salotti as well as the Children’s Chorus of the Teatro del Giglio and the “Santa Cecilia” Chapel conducted by Maestro Sara Matteucci.

“I am very happy to return to the theatre of my hometown”, states Massimo Cavalletti, “ and I look forward to singing with soprano Silvana Froli, a dramatic soprano with a most beautiful voice: we will sing the third act duet from La bohème, the duet from Il trovatore as well as the duettino from Don Giovanni. The concert will be a blend of popular arias from the great Italian repertoire; there will be a lot of Puccini, as well as Catalani, the other great Lucca born operatic composer, and Verdi will be present, too. Flautist Sara Tomei will play accompanied by pianist Massimo Salotti, but she will also accompany Silvana Froli and me. There will also be the participation of the Children’s Chorus of the Teatro del Giglio and “Santa Cecilia” Chapel who will perform the Italian National Anthem, and the excellent actor and director Nicola Fanucchi will emcee the evening. The town of Lucca has joined forces and with the help of everyone it has been possible to create this musical evening. Thanks to its generosity we will be of enormous help to our community. I hope everyone will have a good time and that music will always be at the service of those in need, bringing happiness to people!”
